I think you might as well say what's on your mind. Screw them and their opinions. You're up there to give your opinion.
However, if this has to be reviewed by anyone before you say it, you won't be allowed. It's not the norm to say what you actually feel. You're
supposed to give some crappy tear-jerker of a speech.
If this is how you truely feel, and you feel strong enough to say it, go ahead and do it. Go out with a bang. Hey, they'll never forget you!

lol well yeah i gave it today. it actually went over really well... unfortunately. apparently everyone thought it was supposed to be a joke. i did add in a few extra sentences to lighten it int eh middle though.. i replaced the "However, this class was worth while" stuff with this:
However, it cannot be said that my experiences in this class were unpleasant, over the past 10 months we've all shared a few laughs and had some OK times. Never have I ever had so much fun taking my pants off in front of a roomful of people as I did the day I took my pants off in front of all of you. You were all such great sports about it too, not one of you told me to get my fat arse out of your face. For this I commend you.
but i left everythign else. hehe. dumb people, they laughed...

Says the one who delivered a speech that declares she is better than her peers. How ironic.

Brilliant, Kimmy

Biting satire. I'm proud of you. Also, I have a useful phrase for you which you might like to employ on a future occasion to unspecified persons. It goes something like this:
"Eat a dick."

I'm glad you stuck with it, Kimmy, and the extra part you added was perfect.

well it's over and done with now. i'm happy with my choice and feel no need for its justification, it wasn't exactly a big deal.

Corey's right.
You were giving a serious speech and they thought it was a joke and laughed. Do you really think that's what a good public speaker is?

That's nice, as long as you know that Corey was right.

i believe that my speech, in its final draft, was appropriate for the situation in which it was presented, (an amateur high school public speaking course that most people had joined to evade taking a real english). had i been giving this speech in a more professional forum then corey would indeed be right. on the other hand, there never would have been grounds for such a speech had the forum been more professional.
