“Music doesn’t have the power to change the world. What music does is it changes people, & that changes the world, so to say that music doesn’t change people anymore is just ridiculous. It does everyday. It doesn’t have to be on a political or social level. You could be feeling shitty & it makes you happy & if that’s all it does, it’s changing the world. It’s making it a better place.” ~ Raine Maida

I don't really see how when somebody, mistakenly on an internet fan forum, criticizes some vocals in a rather short video, it's frustrating to the point of banging your head on a brick wall. I don't think Raine Maida is going to lose sleep over it. Operations will not cease in the studio. Nobody is writing the album off here.ClumsyGirl618 wrote:I'm quoting this simply for emphasis!xjsb125 wrote:Those aren't the final vocals. I don't see how some of you still don't get that. The song sounds good to me though.
Talk, talk is cheap, puts me to sleep.

My list of 'toos':
Too many fedoras.
Too many pairs of tight black jeans.
Too many guys in a room. (Four is enough.)

That's not it. Matt's frustration comes from the fact that it's been explained multiple times and people are still commenting about it. If you read and pay attention to what's being read....Maine Raida wrote:I don't really see how when somebody, mistakenly on an internet fan forum, criticizes some vocals in a rather short video, it's frustrating to the point of banging your head on a brick wall. It's like when I have a class and I explain the directions to the kids and then I ask kids to repeat the directions to make sure they understand... we start 2 minutes later and sure enough... someone says... what are we supposed to do? Read, pay attention, and repetition will not be necessary.

Well, it's an internet forum. It doesn't seem to matter much, because the people who comment on it seem to be acting out of offense in the band's name. Bah. And now there's this meta conversation about it. Haha.
You guys are right though. Of course scratch vocals aren't going to sound amazing right off the floor, first take. Anybody who tries to write a song will realize that instantly, since perfect melodies don't magically flow out of thin air. I'm sure Raine will iron it out nicely on the record. They have outside eyes this time around, and even though I thought Burn Burn lacked some good production qualities, Raine is solid on that side too.

Hrm... i wonder if this single is going to be "Warnings". It fits with the theme... and could easily fit with the melody. Wonder if he just added more falsetto to it?Flynner wrote:Raines latest tweet-
