Giarrdia is a parasite found in bad water. I probably got it from one of my camping excursions. It messes with your stomach and your bowels. If Giarrdia goes untreated, it doesn't go away.
It's not contagious, right Dr. J?

That makes it worse. And if I drank alcohol the medication would be doing VERY bad things.
Like killing me.

Yes, Giardia can be very contagious. Follow these guidelines to avoid spreading Giardia to others.
Wash your hands with soap and water after using the toilet, changing diapers, and before eating or preparing food.
Avoid swimming in recreational water (pools, hot tubs, lakes or rivers, the ocean, etc.) if you have Giardia and for at least 2 weeks after diarrhea stops. You can pass Giardia in your stool and contaminate water for several weeks after your symptoms have ended. This has resulted in outbreaks of Giardia among recreational water users.
Avoid fecal exposure during sex.
OK then. I was pretty sure it wasn't contagious, but I guess I was wrong. Thank you.
I've lost 15 pounds in a month. Wow.

I don't think the meds are that good for my body. It's like chemical warfare down there. It wipes out the Giarrdia but it takes my good intestinal flora with it.

Hey Dr. J, my friend has this big ass lump on his neck, and he's freaked by it. He says it hurts if he touches it and it's really big actually, and hard. He thinks he has cancer and cancer does run in his family he says. Now of course all of us (us being his friends) think he's fine and it's nothing serious, and he is getting it checked out, but what are the chances of it being serious.
